When Stan Lee formed Marvel Comics, he certainly knew who his target audience were – adolescent males. Both the content of the early comics and the language that Stan used to communicate with the readership (yes, True Believer!) was designed to resonate with young bucks seeking adventure and wanting to be part of an exciting, popular gang.

Have you defined out your target audience yet? If not, how do you know that your creative output and communication (blog-posts, emails etc.) ‘hit the spot’ for your followers? (more…)

Something new, something awesome

There comes a point in a blog’s life where it needs to be cleaned out and started over. For Awesomologist, that time is now.

I began thinking of a reboot of my blog while writing this post over at The Underfold, and in the end, I felt like the purpose of my comic was to consume, not to teach/encourage/etc. But, that’s exactly what I’m feeling led to do. I’ve met a lot of really great creators in my three years doing The Underfold, and the one thing that I’ve noticed is that people need community. (more…)
