Storm’s Ahead
Today, as I was driving back to my office from the Post Office run of the day, the road I was on was surrounded by clear skys with fluffy clouds and inviting blue vastness, but all that was ahead was storm clouds. Dark, ominous storm clouds.
And, all I wanted to do was turn off. Go anywhere but where I’m supposed to go because every other direction looked better than the way I needed to.
But isn’t that how life is sometimes too? Some days look a little brighter than others, but sometimes it just seems like any other path I could have chosen would be better. The grass is always green on the other side, right? I question myself. I question my decisions. I question my life. I question my faith.
The thing about storms though, is that they only last for a while. They wash grime and dust away. Redefine landscapes. Nourish life. They’re necessary. And you know how beautiful and full of color everything looks when it’s wet and the sun pokes out from behind those heavy, dark clouds?
Yeah, sometimes, storms are the perfect place to be. Even when it’s raining.
