Border Patrol on the Inside?
Illegal aliens. It’s a serious problem in our country, I’m sure. I know that they’re being treated unfairly and not going through the right systems to become real citizens, and I understand that.
This post actually doesn’t have much to do with illegal immigrants. And everything to do with what in the world do Border Patrol vehicles need in the middle of Florida?
Am I misunderstanding what Border Patrol does or something? Maybe I just don’t get it. I thought that they actually patrolled the borders of our country. I must be off-base though because here in Orlando, and not the “Greater Orlando Area” that includes the beach, I mean the real Orlando that’s smack-dab in the middle of the stupid peninsula, I see Border Patrol vehicles all over the place.
Are they patrolling the border between counties now? Keeping those Seminole County scabs out of Orange County? Or is it the other way around? Trying to keep Orange County Disney employees from fleeing to Seminole County where there is immunity from dictatorship? (Of course, we all know there’s no saving anyone from the death-grip of Disney.)
I realize that there is an airport here, and it is international, but isn’t that Immigration’s job to patrol that? If it isn’t, wouldn’t it fall under regular, old police or FBI or something’s jurisdiction?
It would be like having a mall cop patrol the highway. Just in case.
What? Just in case someone that broke into a car at the mall got onto the highway to escape, and now that he’s not on mall property you can’t do anything?
Border Patrol. The name seems pretty self-explanatory, but I guess I’m wrong. Unless it is the county thing, but that doesn’t really make sense.
To recap: Go to the beach, Border Patrol. But, I guess they aren’t needed there either. Isn’t that what the Coast Guard does? Sheesh.
Am I the only one the feels this way? Are there any other ridiculous government vehicles driving around where you are that don’t seem to belong?
bman!
I absolutely loved your comment on SFL today. I immediately called Dan and told him to read it. Very funny stuff! Then when my CPA husband couldn’t count to 7…well, it was just one fantastic day for my comments section. So glad to welcome you to SFL for your daily dose of random.
Thanks! And thanks for the boost over here. It’s like no man’s land. Although, that could be do to the Border Patrol… hmm..
